Care is provided in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Compass Intervention Center. The House Supervisor prescribes; coordinates and delegates care utilizing the nursing process that is integrated into the multidisciplinary treatment team plan of care. The House Supervisor is accountable for nursing care activities on a shift basis and is responsible for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit. Assumes in charge responsibility for the safe and effective management of a patient care unit during assigned shift. Continually monitors the milieu. Takes measures necessary to maintain and improve the quality of care. Identifies problems in the delivery of patient care, develops solutions and monitors effectiveness. Directs, supervises and evaluates performance of staff in the provision of patient care. Completes assignment sheet for nursing staff. Assignments reflect the competence of staff and patient care needs are adjusted as needed. Follows up to assure completion of assigned tasks. Modifies assignments necessary to maintain effectiveness. Receives report from previous shift Charge Nurse and utilizes information in planning for shift. Give accurate and thorough report to oncoming shift Charge Nurse. | ||||
